Lisa Koperqualuk

President of the Inuit Circumpolar Council

Lisa Koperqualuk was born in 1962 in the Inuit community of Puvirnituq, Nunavik. With a bachelor's degree in political science and a master's in anthropology, she worked for several years as a communications officer for Makivik Corporation, the organization responsible for protecting the interests and rights of Québec's Inuit. A deeply committed advocate, she is the co-founder of the Saturviit Inuit Women's Association of Nunavik. She was elected Vice-President of the Inuit Circumpolar Council in 2018 and President in 2022.
