Taamusi Qumaq (1914-1993) stands out as one of the prominent leaders of the Nunavik people, renowned for both his political activism and cultural contributions. He played a pivotal role in the emergence of the cooperative movement in Nunavik and the establishment of the Federation of Cooperatives of Northern Quebec. Furthermore, he authored an encyclopedia on Inuit customs and cultural traditions, as well as a dictionary on the Inuktitut language.
